Cupid's Story

Cupid, a big white and gray male cat, was discovered in a lady's garage in the Desert Inn and Pecos area of Las Vegas. He was in dire need of being rescued since he was carrying an arrow that went completely through his body. It was apparent the arrow had been lodged between the cat’s shoulder blades for several days. The lady whose garage he took refuge in called the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. The president of the Humane Society, Judith Ruiz, immediately picked up the cat and rushed him to a local veterinarian. The arrow was removed and the cat spent the next few weeks in the veterinary clinic recuperating. All the TV and radio news desks carried the rescue and recovery for several days. Each news desk had their own name for the unfortunate cat. He was called "Lucky", "Arrow Flynn", and even "Arrow Cat". Of course the LVVHS had numerous telephone calls from persons wanting to adopt the cat. The decision was hard but he finally was adopted to a family of cat lovers who had several other cats and could monitor his recovery. He was finally offically named "Cupid" in honor of his loving nature. His human mother claims he is her biggest lap cat. Cupid is a good natured and loving cat in spite of his contact with the worst side of human nature.
