Kacey & Teri Burning Fire Rescue

About 1:30 am one morning in early December Kacey the cat started clawing and meowing at her sleeping owners; Charlene and Charles; doing her best to get them awake and out of bed. At the same time Teri the dog started making a ruckus in her attempt to awaken her owner Bill. Charlene with Charles and Bill were all staying at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in recreational vehicles. Both Kacey and Teri were sucessful in awakening their owners; who then discovered that the RV inbetween theirs was on fire and someone inside needed help. Bill with Charles help was able to rescue their neighbor from his burning RV.

Because of Kacey and Teri's help in alerting their owners to the fire they were given St. Francis of Assisi Awards by the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. This award is normally given to firemen for helping to save animals from burning buildings but this time it seemed appropriate to give the awards to Kacey and Teri for saving a human. The awards were donated by Rainbow Designs of Las Vegas.

Below are pictures of Kacey with her owner Charlene, Judith Ruiz, President of the LVV Humane Society and Teri with her owner Bill.
