What do I do with MOMS and KITTENS?

The Las Vegas Valley Humane Society (LVVHS) does not remove kittens with the mom from someone’s property. If the kittens are in immediate “danger”, which is determined by our staff, fill out our form HERE.

If you are feeding the mother and the kittens are not weaned, leave them alone.  A kitten’s best chance of survival is with the mother.

To help the mother take care of kittens, make sure there is food, water and shelter.

Sometimes it looks like the mother is not around, she has to go out to find food if you are not feeding her.

When the kittens are a minimum of 2lbs, usually around 8 weeks.we can work with you to get them fixed, along with the mother, to stop the cycle of overpopulation of street cats. There are an estimated 200,000 to 400,000 feral cats in our valley on our streets.

Please contact us when the kittens and mom are ready to be fixed. There is NO COST to you... LVVHS pays for it.  The mom and kittens will also be vaccinated.

If there are more feral cats around, please contact The Animal Foundation for help with trapping and fixing.  Email them at CCP@animalfoundation.com. They have assistance programs at no cost to you.
